Admission Information
Prerequisites
- Bachelor's degree with minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
- Introductory Statistics (MAT 311 or equivalent)
- Introductory Computer Programming (MAT 241, Coursera Python for Everyone, or equivalent)
- Introductory Calculus (MAT 126 or equivalent) – recommended

Admission Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale).
- Statement of Intent (2–3 pages) covering:
- Your background (education, hobbies, work, life experiences)
- Your academic and professional goals, and how this program supports them
- Why you are interested in Data Science
- Why you chose the DSA program at Buffalo State (program, school, location, and Professional Science Master’s benefits such as required business courses and internship)
- Why you are a strong fit and how you will contribute
- Any additional information (e.g., explanation of incomplete or low grades)
- Interview – scheduled after your completed application is received.
The GRE is not required!

Application Deadlines: Rolling admission. Students may start in Fall, Spring, or Summer.
