As a core component of the PSM program, internships allows students to gain a meaningful, hands-on work experience. This opportunity also provides mentoring from industry leaders along with the possibility of gaining a job through this experience.
The purpose of the internship is threefold:
Austin Wangler created a job site prediction model which predicted if an ongoing job was going to meet the profit margin. This internship lead to Austin being offering a full time position for Barrett Industries parent company, Colas USA.
Zaid Newsome utilized project management principles to help organize the creation of a dashboard using AWS, Python, and Tableau to help visualize the Teach Education Unit data.
Matthew Bergey built a model to predict “zombie” houses, vacant homes where the owner is behind on their moragage payments, in the city of Buffalo using OpenData.
