Would you recommend doing an internship there and why?
“Oh for sure because Delaware North has so many different subsidiaries. It has travel, hospitality, HR, IT, retail.”
What advice would you have for someone looking for an internship?
“Don’t be afraid of applying and not hearing back from companies. Even if it is for an internship or a job. If you don’t try you will never know! You have to be positive and you have to be aggressive and be proactive. Keep applying, keep applying. You will put in 100 application and may get rejected 99 times but don’t give up that one company is all you need. Keep applying and don’t get disheartened. Just follow the basics of having a proper resume and job interview skills, and how you talk, be prepared. If you do the basics right you are bound to get something.”
What advice would you give someone during their internship?
“I tried to get connected with the key players for every department, mostly the mangers, and tried to assist them, I would approach them say, ‘I am the intern here and I would love to work with you on any project.’ Even if it was just for a couple of hours or a small little task at least you build that communication and that bond with them and that’s key.”

Where was your internship?
Delaware North
Would you recommend doing an internship there and why?
"Yeah 100%. The environment, the people, the place. Everyone was friendly. Even all the bosses, you would think you would be intimidated to talk to them but they were all so friendly. They would say hi to you first before you even had the opportunity. They made you feel so welcome and their doors were always open. It doesn’t even matter if they are in the same department as you or if they were your boss. They always had their doors open and they said come in anytime you want. Ask questions. It made you feel really comfortable, especially for me who had never had this experience before. Going into a company like that was really great because I realize not every company is like that. I would definitely recommend Delaware North to any intern."
What advice would you have for someone looking for an internship?
"My advice would be get on LinkedIn and connect with analysts, anyone who has that title or just email, find their email on the company website. Reach our email them for internships because it is hard to get one. And I feel like it is all who you know. Just reach out find someone who works at Rich products or whatever ask them what internships are being offered."
"I definitely think keep looking any applying everywhere, and email anyone you can. Definitely bother people, it’s okay to bother them! Before this I would have been to shy or embarrassed to keep bothering people but thats the way the world works."
How did you get this internship?
"The way I got this internship was through [another student in the program]. She told me about an internship before it was posted and when it was posted she told me to apply right away. Once I applied she told my manager that I applied and to keep a look out for me. I definitely think that’s why I got it."
