Mark Newsom, Principal and Founder of Health Evaluations

Mark Newsom began his data analytic journey as a research assistant in the Department of Psychology at Buff State. He completed his senior internship as a data analyst at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer, beginning a 20+ year career involving health care data and public policy. Mark currently runs Health Evaluations, a management consulting practice in Northern Virginia. He previously held senior roles at three Fortune 200 companies: Humana, CVS Health and Coventry. On the government side, Mark served in payment policy and data management roles at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and was a senior policy advisor to Members of Congress and their staff. He holds a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Illinois and completed the Executive Analytics program at Texas A&M University and the Business of Health Care graduate program at Johns Hopkins University. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Advocacy Council of the American Health Information Management Association.
