Bio: I'Jaz Ja'ciel is a data journalist and investigative reporter at Investigative Post, a local nonprofit news organization dedicated to investigative journalism. Ja'ciel graduated from Buffalo State University (when it was a college) in 2019 with a B.A. in Journalism and in 2020 with an M.S. in Multidisciplinary Studies in the Data Science and Analytics Track. Before her current position, Ja'ciel worked in radio and television as a journalist for WBFO, Buffalo's NPR station, and Spectrum News Buffalo. She also worked within Buffalo State's Marketing and Communications office, producing stories about campus affairs. Her academic and professional developments have earned her numerous accolades, including the President's Award for Outstanding Graduate Student in 2020, the Buffalo State Communication Department's Emerging Leader Award this year, and the InfoTech BETAS Rising Star award in 2021.
